Happy Sunday, Bear Families!

We’re ready for another great week at JBES! Thank you for continuing to partner with us as we support our students, celebrate their growth, and help them be their very best.

Here’s to a week filled with learning, kindness, and lots of Bear pride!

Health Screenings - 09/18

Coordinated School Health will be at JBES on Friday, September 18, to complete annual health screenings for students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grades. Screenings may include vision, hearing, blood pressure, and BMI, depending on grade level.

If your child wears glasses or contacts, please make sure they have them on screening day. Students in 2nd and 4th grade should wear a shirt with sleeves that can easily be pushed or rolled up for blood pressure screening.

If you do not want your child screened, please send a signed note to your child’s homeroom teacher with your child’s name and date of birth.

Thank you for helping us keep our Bears healthy!

Pathway Promotion - 3rd & 4th Grade Information

Tennessee law requires 3rd and 4th grade students to demonstrate proficiency in English Language Arts (ELA) on the TCAP assessment to be promoted to the next grade.

For more information, email Dr. Tinnell at stinnell@mauryk12.org.

Attendance Matters!

Student attendance is monitored daily by the state. Each absence, whether excused or unexcused, is recorded as the state evaluates the total amount of instructional time missed.

It is very important that your child not miss more than four (4) days within a nine-week period. Missing sixteen (16) or more days during the school year leads to a significant loss of instructional time, which can impact your child’s academic progress and may result in retention.
